After 36 years of dedication to quality services for Dawson Creek and Area, Dawson Creek Catholic Social Services Society is re-branding. The Executive Director for over 30 years established the organization as a solid social service agency known for professional, compassionate service for all. With a commitment to continuing that legacy, we are now doing business as: Outlines for Life Society.

Territorial Acknowledgement

Outlines for Life Society acknowledges that the land upon which we live, work, and offer our services is on the unceded, ancestral, territories of the Treaty 8 Nations who have cared for this land for centuries. Treaty 8 includes the ethno-linguistic groups of the Sikanni, Slavey, Beaver (Dunne-za), Cree, and Saulteau people. We acknowledge settler privilege and the responsibility to honour the truth of our nation’s history and the impact that colonization and assimilation has on First Nations, Metis, and Inuit people. The continuing relationship between Indigenous peoples and this land contributes to the rich knowledge and culture of the South Peace region.

How We Help

Our roots in service are in the provision of professional counselling and therapy services to children, youth and their families, and have grown to include work training and employment programs in Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, and Tumbler Ridge

Who We Are

Outlines for Life Society is a Registered non-profit charitable organization incorporated March 23, 1988, as Dawson Creek Catholic Social Services Society, and completed a name change to Outlines for Life Society in 2023.

The Purposes of the Society are to:

  • Continue the legacy of agency founders and give priority to the most vulnerable people in the South Peace Region, offering hope through compassion, humility, and caring for all who seek assistance.
  • Continue our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation by honouring the rights of indigenous people without discrimination, to improve their economic and social conditions through the services we offer.
  • Assess individual needs in a non-judgemental, respectful manner that ensures equity and inclusion.
  • Provide professional counselling services to address personal barriers to wellbeing.
  • Provide skills training and employment services that help elevate the financial capacity of individuals to earn a living wage.
  • Maintain a culture of kindness and respect for service recipients, staff, and community colleagues.
